Acceptable Use Policy
Forms part of the Terms of Use. Aligned with the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

5.1 Application
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all use of Ask VAI, an internal organizational tool operated by Versoaltima India Pvt. Ltd., and forms a binding part of the Limited Terms of Product Use. By using the Service, every user (User, Manager, CxO, Org Admin, or Product Admin) agrees to comply with this AUP. Breach may lead to suspension, termination, content takedown, and reporting to law-enforcement authorities.
5.2 Prohibited content (Rule 3(1)(b) of IT Intermediary Rules 2021)
Users must not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share any content (including in tickets, comments, requirements, ideas, concerns, help requests, or attachments) that:
- belongs to another person and to which the user does not have any right
- is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, libellous, racially or ethnically objectionable, or relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling
- is harmful to a Child
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right
- violates any law for the time being in force
- deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message or knowingly and intentionally communicates any false information
- impersonates another person
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence, or prevents investigation of any offence, or is insulting other nation
- contains software viruses, worms, malware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any computer resource
- is patently false and untrue, with the intent to mislead or harass
5.3 Prohibited activities
- accessing data of another organization without authorization (cross-tenant access attempts)
- bypassing or attempting to bypass authentication, authorization, role-based access control, tenant isolation, rate limits, or any security control
- uploading malware, ransomware, viruses, time bombs, logic bombs, or any malicious code
- misuse of OTP, invitation, password-reset, or grievance systems
- scraping, mass extraction, web-crawling without authorization, or automated unauthorised data collection
- denial-of-service, distributed-denial-of-service, brute-force, or other attacks against the Service
- reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service except to the limited extent permitted by Section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957
- using the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications, spam, or phishing
- circumventing, removing, or altering any technological protection measure
- using the Service to facilitate or further any activity that violates any export control, sanctions, anti-bribery (including the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988), anti-money-laundering (Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002), or anti-terrorism law (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967)
- using the Service in a manner that violates any third party's rights, including IP, privacy, or publicity rights
- using AI features as the sole basis for any final employment, appraisal, disciplinary, legal, financial, regulated-profession, or life-safety decision without independent human review
5.4 Concern anonymity rules
- Anonymous concerns are intended to surface organizational issues; users must not abuse anonymity to defame, harass, or intimidate
- Concern author identifiers are stored server-side for abuse audit and may be disclosed by us only when compelled by an order of an Indian court or competent authority, or where required to protect against immediate harm to a person
- Repeated abusive concerns may lead to account suspension or restriction
5.5 Reporting unlawful or violating content
To report content or behaviour that violates this AUP or applicable law, first contact support@askvai.in. If there is no response within 15 days, escalate to the Grievance Officer at grievance@askvai.in, per the Grievance Redressal Policy. Reports should include:
- identification of the content (URL, ticket reference, idea/concern/help ID, or screenshot)
- nature of violation
- complainant's contact details
- any supporting evidence
5.6 Our response to violations
- Voluntary takedown: we may remove, restrict, or disable access to content we determine, in good faith, to violate this AUP
- Court / authority order: we will remove or disable access to content within 36 hours of receipt of an order of a court or notification by the appropriate Government or its agency under Rule 3(1)(d) of the IT Intermediary Rules 2021
- Cooperation with law enforcement: we will cooperate with lawful requests under Section 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Section 94 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 (where applicable), and Section 69/69A of the IT Act
- Account action: we may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate this AUP
5.7 Intermediary status
To the extent we host user-generated content (including Community Pulse content — ideas, concerns, help requests, and comments), we are an intermediary as defined under Section 2(1)(w) of the IT Act and operate per the IT Intermediary Rules 2021. We are not the author or publisher of user-generated content, and the user remains solely responsible for content they upload.
5.8 Safe-harbour conditions
To preserve safe harbour under Section 79 of the IT Act, users must use the Service only for lawful purposes and must comply with this AUP. Violations may forfeit a user's right to use the Service.
5.9 Changes
We may update this AUP. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance through the Service.
